Volunteer Opportunities at Brookgreen

  • Guest Services: Greet visitors and provide information.
  • Tours: Trained volunteers give various tours throughout the gardens providing information to visitors.
  • Horticulture: Volunteers assist staff members working in the gardens or in the greenhouse.
  • Gift Shop and Restaurants: Volunteers assist shoppers and patrons on their visits to these areas.
  • Office: Volunteers assist administration with various office duties.
  • Sculpture: Trained volunteers help in the cleaning and treatment of various pieces of sculpture and/or give tours to visitors educating them about our collection.
  • Handy Vols: Volunteers work under the supervision of staff to do minor repairs, painting, carpentry, etc.
  • Education: Trained volunteers assist staff with school groups conducting programs and assisting teachers with their visit.
  • Special Events: Volunteers assist staff in putting on various special events that happen on the property including Harvest Home Weekend, Gullah Gullah Week, Nights of a Thousand Candles, Spring Festival, Spring Gala, and others.
